Code of Ethics

As an Official Wisdom Through Horses™ Facilitator, I pledge to uphold the values, integrity, and spirit of this program in every aspect of my work.

I honor the transformative partnership between horses and humans, and I commit to facilitating with compassion, professionalism, and respect.

By signing this pledge, I agree to:

1. Create Safety for Horses and Humans

I will provide a physically and emotionally safe environment by practicing ethical, compassionate horsemanship; choosing activities appropriate for participants; and maintaining safe facilities, equipment, and group dynamics.

2. Honor Horses as Sentient Partners

I will treat horses with dignity and patience, listen to their signals and boundaries, support their wellbeing, and adjust activities to ensure they remain calm, comfortable, and respected.

3. Respect Every Participant

I will hold an inclusive, non-judgmental space that welcomes self-expression, learning, and emotional safety. I will honor each person’s pace and maintain clear, healthy professional boundaries.

4. Uphold Confidentiality & Privacy

I will protect participants’ personal information, honor the privacy of their experiences, and obtain consent before collecting or sharing photos, videos, or stories.

5. Maintain Professional Integrity & Representation

I will represent the program honestly, offer only activities aligned with my training, use the Official Facilitator title appropriately, and uphold ethical standards in all professional interactions.

6. Foster Inclusivity & Belonging

I will welcome individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities, and intentionally cultivate an environment where every participant feels safe, respected, valued, and seen.

7. Stay Committed to Learning & Growth

I will remain curious and engaged in ongoing learning related to horses, facilitation, trauma-awareness, youth development, and emotional intelligence, and seek mentorship when needed.

8. Honor Integrity with Materials & Curriculum

I will use Wisdom Through Horses™ materials as intended, uphold copyright protections, preserve the heart and spirit of the curriculum, and ensure the program is facilitated only by officially trained facilitators.

9. Engage in Ethical Marketing & Communication

I will communicate honestly and respectfully about the program, share its benefits with integrity, and use marketing approaches that reflect compassion, truth, and respect.

10. Uphold the Responsibilities of Official Facilitator Status

I understand that maintaining Official status requires honoring this Code of Ethics and engaging in all aspects of my facilitation with safety, integrity, and professionalism.
